So, seen from the stupid noob user client side everything fits. Tried many different settings, changed this and that (e.g. arrow and button colours, many things that are not really neccessary ;-)) And I've got no serious bugs while playing X6. Only the few flaws, that are already mentioned elsewhere, like holes in the road and the like.
I appreciate Kegetys' work, and he is a god's gift to the community! I just don't like the way people can behave when they have pitspotter installed.
There is no "guy on the left" or "clear"!!!
look into your mirrors, look left and right, that's the way to go! You can't get commands like "guy approaching left next corner" or "careful, guy in front is about to shut the door next corner!" There are more ways to get to know certain driver's styles and lines.
Don't take this personal, Kegetys and fellow fanboys, but I just think racecraft doesn't increase by using this tool.
So if I got you right, you're working on the version for patch X, right?
Can you give any information when it will be done pleeeeeeease? The program seems to be exactly what I've been looking for.
I live 150kms away from my girlfriend. Since she is working as a midwife she's also working on weekends, so I have 10 hours of time sometimes :-( . I've also installed lfs on her laptop, unlocked it and it's running fine. The only problem I could think of would be if my girl wanted to try lfs (naaaaa, this would NEVER happen... she's not into playing stupid computer games ;-)).
So if your "first" lfs locks up, you maybe have to shutdown your rig, wait a few minutes for the server to notice you're gone, meanwhile start your laptop and play.
I'm going to scotland for holidays this summer, and I'll spend something around the worth of an S2 license just for B&B every night! I could instead buy 13 S2 licenses and give them away!!! Makes me shiver...
Honestly, if you really really want something, you'll definately find a way how to raise money for it, I wish you the best of luck!
I've got several friends who play in bands. Most of the CDs they do under their own labels, no GEMA, STEMRA and stuff involved. I already asked the guys if I would be allowed to use their songs. The answer was mostly yes, if I put the band and song name somewhere. I can live with that, too bad though, that I don't own a rig fast enough to get some freeware screen capture stuff running...
Looking forward to seeing you soon Mako! You've also shown to be a very fair racer and nice guy to talk to! Maybe in the near future you could also start having that funny ZWR|-thingie before your name!
Also important: NEVER never ever no no bad boy don't touch the grass/dirt. We've found out that this leads to more sliding immediately, causing a massive increase of tyre temps in the next few corners.
ah yeah, freaking times... Owen is also from the united states of whatever... we almost never see him. But when we meet it's a fest I can tell you ;-)
If you can't get your stuff set up right, you can always pm most of our members and get our msn/icq numbers, I'm not here this weekend but I'm pretty sure the guys are going to help you get vent running!
The RGT pro is belt driven, and that's great because you almost can't hear it! I've got the old 2 pedal version and I'm happy with it! If you are able to drive with your wheel, not handling it like a blacksmith, it's the best you can get IMO. There are so many problems with the dfp concerning almost every aspect, be it calibrating, getting it to run on a pc, binding buttons without losing all again, pedal bugs, ...............etc. etc..
I've had problems with a broken shifter after playing 1 1/2 years every day with my rgt. I've mailed thrustmaster, they repaired it and within 1 week the wheel was back. Also it doesn't get loose and feels just nice after years of playing.

EDIT: you might have a look at my wheel... a bit modified...
I just want to spam this thread, but don't know how...
I just say no to rl mass production cars in lfs, and to people who cannot even do a skin for the xrt but cry around all the time. Also I dislike kids, who want other people to be the exact same opinion than they are... who don't allow another opinion on things.
Driftstar, look at all the other "I want an rx7"-threads. comment on those and FGS keep your whiney mouth shut.
Make a rx7-skin, or download one of the 345 trillions, this should make you happy. If not, get lost or play something else.
I'm quarter polish, quarter switzerlandonian (:-)) and half german, and seeing this thread makes me look like an angry samoan. Thanks to the Highjackers of this thread I can still smile!
Even if I had no soldering talent or knowledge of electrics at all I'd rather fix the damn thing than waiting months to get a new one!
Or I would have been more careful...
Open the wheel (might be a few screws to loosen first) and get rid of the moving thing in it. Then buy yourself a power jack similar to the one on your wheel's psu, cut the power line and fix the new plug with a soldering iron. You might want to put several layers of iso tape, then gaffer tape around the cable to prevent it from breaking again.
Or... if it's the red momo, just send it to me ;-)
Good luck repairing that damn thing!!
I've been to a local rally event for years now, marshals seem to be at every dangerous corner. Before the first pre-drivers come along (this year it was Walther Röhrl on a Porsche 953!!!) a car with a big red flag clears the track. If you try to cross the street after red flag you might get into trouble with a marshal near you.
I've never heard anything about whistles... would be stupid, hearing a whistle blow every minute, don't you think?
IMO it is stupid to cross the track during a race, those cars and drivers are always a bit above their limits and NOT trained to let people cross in front of them.
I feel sorry for the pilots of the car, those guys might be shocked for life, maybe never able to drive fast again.
seeing that both versions (latest vent and TS3) will cost money I think it would be best to search for a good alternative to both of them.
Having used both (older versions), set up servers and clients I would prefer Ventrilo though, its configured nicely already, has better sound quality and stuff. Please no flaming, I just found vent easier to use.
